HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 460, Ordinance Number 74-2-933460 t/ ORDINANCE NO. 74-2-933 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12-46 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 12-46 "Qualifications of trainees", of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained, so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 12-46. Qualifications of trainees. No person shall be employed as an applicant -candidate for employ- ment as a fireman in the fire department who does not possess the following qualifications and comply with the following requirements: (1) He must be a high school graduate or hold a certificate of high school equivalence issued on the basis of a successful completion of the General Educational Development Test administered and approved under the supervision of the United States Armed Forces Institute, or a recognized institute of higher learning. (2) He must be under the age of thirty (30) years. (3) He must be a qualified voter of McCracken County, Kentucky, and a man of sobriety and integrity who at all times has been an orderly law-abiding citizen. (4) He must furnish, at his expense, a satisfactory medical report as to his physical condition, including an electrocardiogram and back x-rays." SECTION 2. Section 1 above amends Section 2 of an ordinance which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, on April 27, 1962. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
