HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 458, No Resolution Number458 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW 1974 COMPACT STATION WAGON FOR USE BY THE AUXILIARY POLICE, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of one (1) new 1974 compact station wagon for use by the auxiliary police, having the following minimum specifications: 4 cylinder engine Minimum wheel base 94 inches 3 speed automatic transmission Factory installed air conditioning Heater and defroster Heavy duty battery Heavy duty alternator or generator Heavy duty radiator Steel belted radial tires Lights to meet all ICC requirements Standard equipment to be described by bidder Color - City blue Spotlight to be furnished by City to be installed by successful bidder Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase price of the vehicle he offers for sale, including all applicable taxes. Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar vehicle of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and each bid shall state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
