HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 456, Ordinance Number 74-2-932457 ORDINANCE NO. 74-2-932 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 54 OF THE PADUCAH ZONING ORDINANCE -1971 BY ADDING THERETO PARAGRAPH 54.02 (e) BEAUTY SHOPS AND BARBER SHOPS WHEREAS, the Paducah Planning Commission on January 7, 1974, after publication of notice pursuant to law, conducted a hearing concerning a proposal to amend Section 54 of the Paducah Zoning Ordinance -1971, by adding thereto Paragraph 54.02 (e), Beauty Shops and Barber Shops, and WHEREAS, after due consideration the said Paducah Planning Commission declined to recommend the aforesaid amendment, and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, conducted a hearing on said proposed amendment on February 12, 1974, after publication of notice pursuant to law, and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, at the hearing conducted on February 12, 1974, reviewed the entire record concerning the proposed amendment; interviewed the Paducah City Planner concerning the proposed amendment and heard oral testimony concerning the proposed amendment, and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, further finds that the location of beauty shops and barber shops within the aforesaid high density residential zones will be in the best interest of all citizens of the City of Paducah, I(entucky and will not be prejudicial to those persons who now live in such zones, and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners finds that the amending of the Paducah Zoning Ordinance -1971, Section 54, by adding thereto Paragraph 54.02 (e) so that same will include as a conditionally permitted use beauty shops and barber shops would be in agreement with the comprehensive plan of this community and would be compatible with general changes in such neighborhoods. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 54 of the Paducah Zoning Ordinance -1971, be amended by adding thereto a new paragraph to be known as 54.02 (e), which shall read as follows: 1154.02 Conditionally Permitted Uses (a) Commercial Greenhouses (b) Funeral Homes (c) Home Occupations (d) Hotel or Motel 1 (e) Beauty Shops and Barber Shops" 457 SECTION 2. That if any section, paragraph or provision of this ordinance shall be found to be inoperative, ineffective or invalid for any cause, the deficiency or invalidity of such section, paragraph or provision shall not affect any other section, paragraph or provision hereof, it being the purpose and intent of this ordinance to make each and every section, paragraph and provision hereof separable from all other sections, paragraphs and provisions. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
