HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 354, Ordinance Number 73-11-900354 Y ORDINANCE NO. 73-11-900 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 72-11-715 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF PETER PIRSCH & SONS COMPANY FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF Two (2) 1,250 GALLON PER MINUTE PUMPING ENGINES WITH DIESEL ENGINE AND CAB FORWARD OVER ENGINE CHASSIS, FOR USE IN THE PADUCAH FIRE DEPARTMENT, WITH ONE TO BE DELIVERED IN THE YEAR 1973 AND ONE TO BE DELIVERED IN THE YEAR 1974, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE" WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 72-11-715 authorized the purchase of two fire trucks from Peter Pirsch & Sons Company for the total net purchase price of $99,121.60, and WHEREAS, it now appears that the Paducah Fire Department needs to purchase 4, 000 feet of a different type fire hose than was originally accepted with the bid of Peter Pirsch & Sons Company. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 72-11-715, bearing the title quoted above, be amended to allow the purchase of 4,000 feet of 3 inch DJ, #600 test, hose with 3" x 24,1" Paducah Threads and mildew treated, for a total additional net difference of $3,320.00, so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, accept the bid of Peter Pirsch & Sons Company for the sale to the City of two (2) 1,250 gallon per minute pumping engines with diesel engine and cab forward over chassis, for use in the Paducah Fire Department, one unit to be delivered in the year 1973 and one unit to be delivered in the year 1974, at a per unit price of $49,560.80, plus the sum of $3,320.00 for 4000 feet of 3 inch DJ 0600 test, hose with 3" x 21" Paducah Threads and mildew treated, for a total net price of $102,441.60, said bid being in substantial compliance with the bid specifications and advertisement for bids as was authorized by resolution passed by the Board of Commissioners on September 19, 1972, and as contained in the bid of Peter Pirsch & Sons Company dated October 20, 1972, and as contained in the quotation of said Company dated November 5, 1973". i SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to I notify Peter Pirsch & Sons Company of the authorization for the change order in the contract, and to execute all necessary contracts to effect said change. 355 SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 4. An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall therefore be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect immediately thereafter.
