A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING, APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE PROPOSED
1995 HIGHWAY AND STREET NEEDS PLAN OF HARLAND BARTHOLOMEW AND
ASSOCIATES, AND AUTHORIZING MAYOR ALICE H. McNUTT TO EXECUTE ALL
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS IN CONJUNCTION THEREWITH
WHEREAS, the State of Kentucky and the local governments of McCracken
County, Kentucky, and Paducah, Kentucky, which comprise the PADUCAH URBAN AREA
have cooperatively conducted a comprehensive transportation planning process under
the name of the Paducah Urban Area Transportation Study, and
WHEREAS, in the judgment of the Citizens Advisory Committee and the
City Commission, the transportation planning process has been adequately developed
to a stage that a needed network of traffieways for the year 1995 can be projected for the
PADUCAH URBAN AREA, to which modifications can be made in the future as this
cooperative planning process continues, and
WHEREAS, the Transportation Planning Consultant, Harland Bartholomew and
Associates, has recommended a proposed 1995 network of trafficways based on the
Transportation planning Process which includes an evaluation of; Economic Factors
Affecting Development; Population; Land Use; Transportation Facilities; Travel Patterns;
Terminal and Transfer Facilities; Traffic Control Features; Social and Community Value
Factors; and
WHEREAS, this proposed 1995 highway and street needs plan will be used by
governmental agencies to direct orderly highway development and maximum usage of
available funds within the framework of proposed community development plans and
highway programs; and
WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Committee and the City Commission
recognize that this plan is based on a continuing transportation planning process and
that changes in community character, socio-economic data, financial capabilities, travel
patterns, and mode concept will necessitate the periodic up -dating and adjusting of the
plan.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah by this resolution does hereby
accept, approve and adopt the proposed 1995 highway and street needs plan of
Harland Bartholomew and Associates with the understanding that modifications
can be made in the future.

SECTION 2. That Alice H. McNutt, Mayor of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
be, and she is hereby, authorized to execute all necessary documents in conjunction
therewith.
SECTION 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
