HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 307, No Resolution Number307/ A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING GIBSON DOWNING TO REPRESENT THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY IN AN AMICUS CURIAE APPEARANCE IN THE COURT OF APPEALS IN THE CASE STYLED, PATRICK AND DAILEY V. CITY OF FRANKFORT WHEREAS, revenue from occupational license taxes constitutes a substantial part of the total revenue of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and WHEREAS, the appellate litigation involving the Frankfort occupational tax jeopardizes this source of revenue for all Kentucky cities and municipal services for a majority of its citizens, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Gibson Downing, Lexington, Kentucky, is hereby authorized to represent the City of Paducah, Kentucky, in an amicus curiae appearance in support of occupational license taxation in the Court of Appeals cases styled Patrick and Dailey v. City of Frankfort. SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
