HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 300, Ordinance Number 73-8-872300 , I/ ORDINANCE NO. 73-8-872 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE CREATING DIVISION 3, INSPECTOR, OF ARTICLE IX, DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING IN CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND SPECIFICALLY CREATING SECTIONS 2-190 AND 2-19111, WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON JANUARY 30, 1973 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on January 30, 1973, be, and the same is hereby, amended and reordained so that said Section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, Chapter 2, Administration Article IR, Department of Engineering, be amended by adding thereto Division III, "Inspector" and Sections 2-190 and 2-191 which Sections as created shall hereafter read as follows: 'Section 2-190, Position Created: General Powers and Duties. There is hereby created the position of Inspector for the Department of Engineering, the occupant of which shall be responsible to the City Engineer for issuing permits for all street and grass plots cut by utility companies and plumbers, etc., and for inspecting and enforcing compliance with all requirements for permits, bonds, indemnifying agreements, and proper backfilling and repair of streets, alleys and grass plots, and shall otherwise perform such duties as may be prescribed by the City Engineer. 'Section 2-191. Compensation and Allowances. The salary of the Inspector assigned to the Engineering Department shall be $400.00 per month, payable as other city employees are paid, plus the sum of $75.00 per month for the use of his own private automobile in the performance of his duties as provided in the Code of Ordinances and prescribed by the City Engineer, which allowance shall be in lieu of all other transportation expense, except business trips away from the city for and on behalf of the City. Payment of such expense sums shall continue as long as the Inspector maintains and uses his j private motor vehicle in the conduct of his office. Payment shall be made as of the close of each calendar month." 301 SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
