ORDINANCE NO, 73-7-845
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF THURMAN STREET LYING SOUTH
OF MEYERS STREET AND A 15 FOOT ALLEY RUNNING PARALLEL WITH MEYERS STREET
AT THE END OF THURMAN STREET
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, does hereby
authorize the closing of portion of Thurman Street lying South of Meyers Street
and a 15 foot alley running parallel with Meyers Street at the end of Thurman Street,
said property being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the southwest corner of Thurman
and Meyers Street which point is located 1274.7 feet from the
southeast corner of Woodward Avenue and Meyers Street;
thence in a southerly direction with the west property line
of Thurman Street 230 feet to a point in the north line of a
15 foot alley; thence in a westerly direction with the north
property line of said alley 300.7 feet to a point; thence in a
southerly direction 15 feet to the south property line of said
alley; thence in an easterly direction with the south property
line of said alley 555.7 feet to a point; thence in a northerly
direction 15 feet to a point in the north property line of said alley;
thence in a westerly direction with the north property line of said
alley 215 feet to a point in the east property line of Thurman Street;
thence in a northerly direction with the east property line of
Thurman Street 221.5 feet to a point in the southeast corner of
Thurman Street and Meyers Street; thence in a westerly direction
projected across Thurman Street 40 feet to a point in the west
property line of Thurman Street; thence in a northerly direction
with the west property line of Thurman Street 8.5 feet to the
point of beginning.
SECTION 2. That the Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah, Kentucky
be, and he is hereby, authorized and empowered to institute and prosecute an action
in the McCracken Circuit Court for a judgment ordering the closing of the street and
alley described in Section I hereof.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
