ORDINANCE NO. 73-5-823
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF JIM SMITH CONTRACTING COMPANY,
INC. FOR IMPROVEMENT OF BROWN STREET, BROAD STREET AND VASSEUR
STREET (CONTRACT NO. I - 1973 S.I.P.) AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH,KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of Jim Smith
Contracting Company, Inc., for the improvement of Brown Street, Broad Street
and Vasseur Street (Contract No. I - 1973 S.I.P.), in the total sum of $160,211.24,
said bid being in substantial compliance with the resolution authorizing bids which
was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on April 17, 1973, said bid being dated
and received May 7, 1973.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute
a contract with Jim Smith Contracting Company, Inc. for the improvement of Brown
Street, Broad Sheet and Vasseur Sheet (Contract No. I - 1973 S.I.P.), which
contract shall be in compliance with Section 1 above, the resolution authorizing bids
plans and specifications, and the bid of Jim Smith Contracting Company, Inc.
SECTION 3. The cost of this project shall be paid from Account
No. 3454.
SECTION 4. An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall
therefore be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection
in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if
adopted shall be in full force and effect immediately thereafter.
