HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 220, No Resolution Number220 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ONE VACUUM VEHICLE FOR USE IN THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky of one (1) vacuum vehicle for use in the Parks and Recreation Department, having the following specifications: ENGINE: 8 H.P. minimum - cast iron four cycle, air cooled, stellite valve with dry air cleaner, electric starter, 15 ampere alternator. FRAME: BODY: DRIVE: Welded square tube steel or equivalent. Fiberglass Transaxle power - automatic forward and reverse, variable power. SUSPENSION: Front - Aircraft type telescoping spring fork. Rear - Automotive type shock - H. D. Coil Springs. BRAKES: Disc brakes. BATTERY: 12 volt automatic type. STEERING: Tiller bar. VACUUM SPECIFICATIONS: Engine - 8 H.P. minimum, electric start. Container - 60 gallon minimum. Hose - 11 ft. minimum 8" dia. minimum, fabric reinforced with wire. Liner - high density linear polyethylene. Tank Top - Fiberglass Bag Size - 22 x 20 x 50, 3 mil., throw away type. OVERALL SIZE OF COMPLETE UNIT: Length - 9 ft. maximum Height - 6.4 ft. maximum. TIRE SIZE: 8.50 x 8 - 4 ply. GENERAL: Each bidder shall state the amount which he will accept for the unit F.O.B. the Parks and Recreation Department, Paducah, Kentucky. Prices shall include or refer to all applicable taxes. Units shall meet all O.S.H.A. Standards. 221 SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the opening of same. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed for opening shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder. and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase same until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. its adoption.
