HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 219, No Resolution Number219 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF APPROXIMATELY 350 QUARTZ IODINE LIGHTING FIXTURES FOR USE i BY THE PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT FOR BALLFIELDS AND TENNIS COURTS, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: i SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for the purchase of approximately 350 quartz iodine lighting fixtures for use by the Parks & Recreation Department, said lights having the following minimum specifications: 1500 watt 240 volt Quartz iodine lamp Lamp 1500T3/CL Single phase lighting fixtures with clear face shields Junction box bracket for cross -arm mounting (18" between cross -arm). 1 I The successful bidder shall be required to furnish an aiming chart for each field or court (approximately 3 fields and 3 courts) and slate the number and placement of narrow beam, medium beam and wide beam, plus the number of fixtures per pole. 1 Pole height, footcandles and location information may be obtained at the office of the Director of Parks and Recreation. I Prices shall be stated on a unit basis and on required pole units completely assembl and ready for use. Prices shall be f.o.b. Paducah, and shall include all applicable sales taxes. SL•CTION Z. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting a notice at the 1'i City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the opening of same. All bids shall be scaled and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed for opening shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the best i responsible bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase same until 1 the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. i SECTION 3.
