HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 16, Ordinance Number 73-1-744ORDINANCE NO. 73-1-744 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF SALVATION ARMY OF PADUCAH, A GEORGIA CORPORATION, TO PURCHASE THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH IN LOTS 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 AND 14 IN BLOCK 3, OF THE J. N. BAILEY ADDITION TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AS SHOWN IN PLAT BOOK "A", PAGE 234, IN THE McCRACKEN COUNTY COURT CLERK'S OFFICE, FOR THE SUM OF $3,750.00, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A QUITCLAIM DEED WITH REVERSIONARY CLAUSES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the offer of Salvation Army of Paducah, a Georgia Corporation, 729 South 21st Street, Paducah, Kentucky, in the amount of $3,750.00, to purchase the interest of the City in the following described land in said City, be accepted, said land being described as follows: Lots 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 in Block 3 of the J. N. Bailey Addition to the City of Paducah, as shown by Plat of record in Plat Book "A", page 234, McCracken County Court Clerk's office. Being a part of the same property purchased by the City of Paducah by deed dated September 1963, of record in Deed Book 453, page 125, McCracken County Court Clerk's office. SECTION 2. Upon the payment of the sum of $3,750.00 to the City Treasurer, the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to convey to Salvation Army of Paducah, a Georgia Corporation, all of the right, title and interest of the City in the property described in Section 1 hereof, except that said deed shall be by quitclaim only, and shall contain a reversionary clause which shall provide that in the event the said property conveyed is not used to serve the social and recreational needs of the citizens of Paducah, Kentucky, that all right, title and interest of the Salvation Army of Paducah, a Georgia Corporation, in and to the said property shall revert immediately to the City of Paducah. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after it adoption.
