HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 155, No Resolution Number155 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW 1973 ECONOMY TYPE AUTOMOBILE FOR USE BY THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE. IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of one (1) new 1973 economy type automobile for use by the Parks & Recrekitibn Department, said automobile to have the following minimum specifications: Four door vehicle Eight cylinder, 302 cubic inch engine minimum' Factory air-conditioning Three -speed automatic transmission Power steering 50 amp alternator minimum 50 amp battery minimum Wheelbase 108 inches minimum Color - optional Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase price of the automobile he offers for sale, and also the amount to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1965 Buick sports Wagon, and said vehicle may be inspected on request at the Parks & Recreation Department. Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar car of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and eacl: bid shall state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract tb the lowest responsible bidder. The city shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
