HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 142, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 1973 FOUR DOOR AUTOMOBILE FOR THE USE OF THE PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON Iq IICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for the purchase of one (1) 1973 four door automobile for use by the Paducah Police Department, said automobile is to have the following minimum specifications: Minimum wheel base of 121 inches Fifteen (15) inch wheels Full four (4) ply tires - not four ply rating Power steering Air conditioning - factory installed Police package to be described in detail, to include a 60 ampere alternator with dual pully and belts Seat belts, with automatic rollers for each Minimum 350 cubic inch engine Color: Blue body with white top and white front doors Heavy duty automatic transmission Heater and defroster - large size Standard equipment to be described fully Dual sun visors Back-up lights Spare tire and wheel Brakes shall be heavy duty variety, having the largest braking surface available Rain gutters capable of holding overhead bar lights Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the automobile he offers for sale. Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested will exhibit , 1 at the City Hall to the City officials a similar car of the model bid j upon with the equipment offered, and each bid shall state the length 1 of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. ,. 1 143 SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
