A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A FIRE STATION TO BE LOCATED NEAR 177H AND
BROADWAY, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH A CONTRACT
MAY BE LET
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to advertise for bids for labor and material to construct a fire
station near 17th & Broadway, Paducah, Kentucky, said advertisement
for bids to be in words and figures as follows:
"INVITATION FOR BIDS
The City of Paducah will receive bids for construction of Fire Station
No. 5, located near 17th and Broadway, in the City of Paducah, Kentucky
until 10:00 a.m., April 20, 1973 at the City Commission Chambers, City
Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at which time all bids shall be opened and read
aloud.
The project consists of a two bay fire station with crew living and
sleeping quarters.
Proposed forms, contract documents, including plans and specifications
are on file at the office of Gresham & Kerr, John Keeling Associates,
215 Centery Building, P. O. Box 1251, Paducah, Kentucky, and at the
office of Edward T. Hannan & Associates, Consultation Engineers, 2221
Broadway, Paducah, Kentucky. Copies may be obtained by depositing
$50.00 with the Architects for each set so obtained. Full refund
when documents are returned in good condition to the Architects within
ten (10) days after bid opening. Documents are available on March 26,
1973, and are on file at the following plans rooms:
Associated General Contractors
Paducah, Kentucky
Dodge/Scan
Nashville, Tennessee
Evansville, Indiana
St. Louis, Missouri
A satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties
in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted
with each proposal. The successful bidder will be required to furnish
and pay for satisfactory performance and payment bonds. Attention is
called to the fact that not less than minimum salaries and wages, as
set forth in the specifications, must be paid on this project.
The City of Paducah reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to
waive informalities in the bidding. No bid shall be withdrawn for a
period of forty-five (45) days subsequent to the opening of bids without
written consent of the Owner.

SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by
posting a notice at the City Hall da,r and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat as provided for by law.

All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed
in the notice for the opening of same.. All bids received by the City
Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same
shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract
to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to
refuse and reject any and all bids.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
