HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 111, Ordinance Number 73-3-778ORDINANCE NO. 73-3-778 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTIONS (a) THROUGH (g) OF SECTION 25-1 "NUMBER, RANK AND SALARIES OF MEMBERS OF DEPARTMENT", OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That sub -sections (a) through (g) of Section 25-1 "Number, rank and salaries of members of department", of the Code of Ordinances City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said sub -sections as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 25-1. Number, rank and salaries of members of department. (a) The number and rank of members of the Police Department of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, provided said salaries are not changed by ary annual apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position Number of Positions Base Monthly Salar Chief of Police 1 $1,050.00 First Assistant Chief of Police 1 820.00 Night Assistant Chief of Police 1 820.00 Chief of Detectives 1 820.00 Captain 8 705.00 Sergeants 14 655.00 Policemen 39 530.00 (b) The first assistant chief shall be paid at the rate of $820.00 per month until such time as he has completed 17 years of service with the city; at the expiration of 17 years and until he has served with the city for a total of 20 years he shall be paid at the rate of $825.00 per month; and at the expiration of twenty (20) years of service he shall be paid at the rate of $830.00 per month. (c) The night assistant chief shall be paid at the rate of $820.00 per month until such time as he has completed 17 years of service with the city; at the expiration of 17 years of service he shall be paid at the rate of $825.00 per month; and at the expiration of 20 years of service he shall be paid at the rate of $830.00 per month. (d) The chief of detectives shall be paid at the rate of $820.00 per month until such time as he has completed 17 years of service with the city; at the expiration of 17 years of service he shall be paid at the rate of $825.00 per month; and at the expiration of 20 years of service he shall be paid at the rate of $830.00 per month. (e) Captains shall be paid at the rate of $705.00 per month until they have served with the city for 14 years; at the expiration of 14 years they shall be paid at the rate of $710.00 per month; at the expiration of 17 years they shall be paid at the rate of $715.00 per month; and for all months of service after 20 years they shall be paid at the rate of $720.00 per month. (f) Sergeants shall be paid at the rate of $655.00 per month for all service through 11 years with the City; at the expiration of 11 years the rate of pay shall be $660.00 per month; at the expiration of 14 years of service the rate of pay shall be $665.00 per month; at the expiration of 17 years of service, and for all service thereafter, the rate of pay shall be $670.00 per month. (g) Policemen shall be paid at the rite of $530.00 per month for the first 6 months; at the expiration of 6 months of service with the city the rate of pay shall be $575.00 per month; at the end of one year of service the rate of pay shall be $585.00 per month; at the end of the second year of service the rate of pay shall be $595.00 per month; for all service between the third and fifth years, the rate of pay shall be $605.00 per month; for service between the fifth and eighth year, the rate of pay shall be $610.00 per month; for all service between the eighth and eleventh year the rate of pay shall be $615.00 per month; for service between the eleventh and fourteenth year, the rate of pay shall be $620.00 per month; and for all service beyond the fourteenth year the rate of pay shall be $625.00 per month." SECTION 2. This ordinance amends an ordinance adopted August 5, 1952 and which was last amended by Ordinance No. 72-4-641 adopted April 18, 1972. SECTION 3.
