HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 1024, No Resolution Number1021 a A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) 1976 MODEL FOUR DOOR AUTOMOBILE FOR USE BY THE CHIEF OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) 1976 model four door automobile to be used by the Chief of the Fire Department, having the following minimum specifications: V8 engine of approximately 350 cubic inch displacement Minimum wheel base of 121 inches Three (3) speed heavy duty automatic transmission HR 78x15 steel belted radial tires Full wheel covers Power steering Factory installed air conditioning Power front disc brakes Complete tinted glass Heater and defroster Minimum 70 amp battery Heavy duty alternator or generator Heavy duty radiator Black cloth interior Color - Fire Chief red Lights to meet all TCC specifications Standard equipment to be described by bidder Spotlight to be furnished by City to be installed by successful bidder Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested will exhibit at the City Ball to the City Officials a similar car of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and each bidder shall state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for scaled bids by posting a notice s,t the City Hnll door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun - Democrat to be published as required by law. All bids shall be scaled and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed for the opening of same shall be filed with the hoard of Commissioners who may let n contract to the best responsible bidder, and the Hoard of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase same until the adoption of an ordinanev authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall he in full force anti effect from and after the date of its adoplian.
