HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 1021, Ordinance Number 75-10-11831021 i ORDINANCE NO. 75-10-1183 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF GRESHAM a KERR, JOHN KEELING ASSOCIATES FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES RELATING TO "TOWNLIFT" AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH SERVICES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, accept the proposal of Gresham 8 Kerr, John Keeling Associates for architectural services relating to the "Townlift" project, and that the City of Paducah enter into a contract which will contain the following provisions: Construction Drawings, Specifications, and Bidding 1. Architect will prepare construction drawings for sidewalks, curb ramps, planter islands, landscape planting, traffic signals, street lights, decorative lights, and other items indicated on preliminary drawings. 2. Architect will receive drawings and specifications from Paducah Power System's consultant for work of underground utilities to combine in one bid package. 3. Architect will write bid documents, including general and special condi- tions, combining and coordinating those items applicable to the under- ground electrical distribution system and the various parties affected, such as gas, water, and telephone utilities. 4. Architect will secure any minor electrical engineering services required by the project. City Engineer to furnish advice if civil engineering decisions are to be made. 5. Architect will coordinate all conflicts between areas of new construction as they appear on the drawings. 6. Bidding: Architect will have the plans and specifications reproduced, prepare advertisement for bids, conduct pre-bid conference for bidders, issue documents to bidders, coordinate bidders questions and conduct the public bidding. City is to pay cost of printing of plans and specifica- tions. Fee: Architect proposes to work at the standard hourly rates (ns set forth in paragraph below) with the total fee not to exceed $26,000.00. This upset cost is based on a 6.5 percentage fee on current cost estimates of architect's proposal of the work minus amounts paid to date, or authorized but not billed. In addition, consideration has been given to the placing of all phases under the architect for coordination and bidding, consideratlon of design mut detailing of traffic signal standards and streets lighting, and coordination of storm sewer, water and gas lines. SECTION 2. That the contract between the City of Paducah and Gresharn a Kerr, .John Keeling Associates shall provide that the Architect shall he paid at the following hourly rate scheduler. Hourly flute Schedule Principal $25.00 Project Architect $20.00 1022 'i Project Draftsman $15.00 Clerical $10.00 SECTION 3. That the sum set forth in Sections 1 and 2 above shall be charged to Community Development Block Grant Funds. SECTION 4. That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute a contract with Gresham & Kerr, John Keeling Associates for the services set forth in Section 1 above, all according to the terms and conditions of the proposal of September 25, 1975, as submitted by Gresham & Kerr, John Keeling Associates. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten days thereafter.
