HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance Book 18, Page 1016, Ordinance Number 75-10-11801016 M ORDINANCE NO. 75-10-1180 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE FROM MILDRED TERRELL WERNER, A SINGLE PERSON, AND 141ARGIE TERRELL LANGSTAFF AND HER HUSBAND, SAMUEL H. LANGSTAFF, JR., OF PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF 9TH AND HARRISON STREETS, FOR THE SUM OF $10,000.00 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, does hereby authorize the purchase and does hereby purchase certain land in the City of Paducah, Kentucky from Mildred Terrell {Verner, a single person, and Margie Terrell Langstaff and her husband, Samuel H. Langstaff, Jr., located at the Southwest corner of 9th and Harrison Streets, for use by the Street Department and for other public purposes, said property being described as follows: Property located on the southwest corner of 9th and Harrison Streets, between I. C. Railroad Right-of-way and 9th Street, running to a 20 foot alley on 9th Street; commencing at the southwest corner of the intersection of 9th Street and Harrison Street, running thence in a southerly direction along 9th Street an approximate distance of 103.25 feet to a 20 foot alley bisecting 9th Street; thence in a westerly direction a distance of approximately 140 feet along said 20 foot alley to Illinois Central Right -of -Nay; thence in a northeasterly direction an approximate distance of 188 feet along said I. C. Right-of-way to Harrison Street; thence in an Easterly direction an approximate distance of 47 feet to the place of beginning, located in the City of Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky. Being the same property conveyed to Mildred Terrell Werner and Margie Terrell Langstaff by deed dated June 25, 1909, of record in Deed Hook 510, page 399, McCracken County Court Clerk's office. SECTION 2. The purchase price to be paid by the City of Paducah for the land described in Section 1 hereof is the sum of $10,000.00, and upon the execution of a general warranty deed from the Grantors mentioned herein conveying the unencumbered, marketable rind fee sinple title to raid land to the City, and approved by and delivered to the Corporation Counsel, the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to pay said purchase price to said Grantors. SECTION 3. The purchase price for said property shall be charged to Public Works Cumulative Reserve Fund, SECTIO`. 4.
