HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 949, No Resolution Number949 v' A RESOLUTION REGARDING GIRL SCOUTING IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH WHEREAS, the Girl Scouts of America are celebrating their sixtieth anniversary, and WHEREAS, Girl Scouts throughout the years have devoted much of their energy and concern to assisting the communities in which they live, and WHEREAS, the Girl Scout program is designed to improve citizenship and a sense of responsibility for its members, and WHEREAS, in commemoration of the said sixtieth anniversary of the founding of the Girl Scouts of America, each Girl Scout Troop in Paducah will be giving sixty hours of service to the City, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, commend and thank the Girl Scouts and Girl Scout Leaders in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for all of their past and present service to the community and specifically for the sixty hours of work and service to be given to the City of Paducah by each Girl Scout Troop. SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption, and it shall be reproduced in sufficient quantity for distribution to the Bear Creek Girl Scout Council to all troops participating in the civic service program.
