HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 948, Ordinance Number 72-3-619948 ORDINANCE NO. 72-3-619 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A LEASE BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, THE COUNTY OF MCCRACKEN AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA FOR AN AREA OF LAND AT BARKLEY FIELD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND LOCATION OF AN AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUC&H, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute a lease agreement between the City of Paducah, Kentucky, the County of McCracken, and the United States of America for an area of land at Barkley Field for the construction and operation of an air traffic control tower, which lease shall be for the consideration of the free construction by the United States of Anerica of the said control tower, and which shall be for a term beginning February 1, 1972 and ending June 30, 1973, with options to renew from year to year thereafter until the 30th day of June 1997, and which lease shall be for the following described property viz: From the centerline intersection of runway 14-32 and a NE/SW taxiway proceed S 140-27' W, 722.6 feet to a point marked by an iron pipe, said point being the point of beginning of the leased premises; thence S 390-11' W, 148.0 feet to a point marked by an iron pipe; thence S 500-49' E, 148.0 feet to a point marked by an iron pipe; thence N 390-11' E, 148.0 feet to a point marked by an iron pipe; thence N 500-49' W, 148.00 feet to the point of beginning, containing in all 0.5 acres, more or less, all being situated at Barkley Field, City of Paducah, County of McCracken, State of Kentucky. All bearings are magnetic (magnetic declination 40-15' E, 1959). ii A copy of said lease has been received, filed and approved by the Board of Commissioners with the Minutes of the meeting of March 7, 1972, and the said lease as approved and filed is adopted herein by reference i as if fully recorded herein. i SECTION 2.
