HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 939, Ordinance Number 72-2-614939 ORDINANCE NO. 72-2-614 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE URBAN RENEWAL AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE PURCHASE OF DISPOSAL PARCEL NO. 1, BLOCK NO. 3, IN THE DOWNTOWN CIVIC CENTER PROJECT NO. KY -R-30 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION I. That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute a "Contract for Sale of Land in Downtown Civic Center Project, KY -R-30," a copy of which has been received and filed with the Minutes of the meeting of February 22, 1972, said contract being for the purchase of Disposal Parcel No. 1, Block No. 3 in the Downtown Civic Center Project Area, Project No. KY -R-30, being approximately one-half block of real property lying on the south side of Kentucky Avenue and running between South 5th Street and South 6th Street, and which is more particularly described in said Contract. SECTION 2. Upon the execution of said Contract, the City Treasurer is authorized to pay the sum of $70,000.00, representing the unpaid portion of the agreed purchase price of $87,500.00, said sum to be paid from the proceeds of the revenue bond sale which was held in part for the purchase of the property. SECTION 3. An emergency is declared to exist, and this ordinance shall therefore be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect immediately thereafter.
