HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 859, No Resolution Number859 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW 1972 FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILE FOR USE BY THE CHIEF OF THE PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT, PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of one new 1972 four door sedan automobile for use by the Chief of the Paducah Police Department, said automobile to have the following minimum specifications: Equipment to be described completely by each bidder; V8 engine, with minimum 400 cubic inch displacement; Automatic three speed transmission; Wheel base 119 inches; Power disc brakes and power steering; Heater; Vinal upholstery; 70 amp battery; Factory installed air conditioning; 55 ampere alternator Tinted glass and body side molding The color shall be solid and may be selected at the time a bid is accepted. Any bid for a chevrolet, ford, Plymouth or competitive line shall be nothing less than those vehicles comparable to the Impala, Galixie or Fury III models. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of such vehicle as he offers for sale, and each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar car of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and each bid must state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date 860 on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
