HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 855, No Resolution Number855 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF FOUR NEW 1972 FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for sale to the city of four new 1972 four door sedan automobiles for use in the Police Department, said automobiles to have the specifications as set forth in the 1972 Police Vehicle Specifications received and filed by this Board on August 24, 1971, and all bidders shall meet the terms and conditions as set forth in said specifications, and said specifications are incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the four vehicles specified above, and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in the following: Make Style Serial Number 1968 Buick 4 door 452698H254021 1970 Olds 4 door 35469OM299276 1970 Olds 4 door 354690M298593 1970 Olds 4 door 354690M299588 The City of Paducah reserves the right to remove the radios, flashing lights, sirens and any regulation police equipment from the trade-in vehicles before they are released to the successful bidder. Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar car of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and each bidder shall state the time required for delivery after the execution of any contract. SECTION 3. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with 856 the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
