HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 841, Ordinance Number 71-11-568ORDINANCE NO. 71-11-568 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A TRACT OF LAND ADJACENT TO THE EAST PROPERTY LINE OF FIRE STATION NO. 5 AS IT IS NOW LOCATED IN THE 1700 BLOCK ON BROADWAY FROM AL REA AND WIFE, FOR THE SUM OF $8,000.00, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE WHEREAS, the City of Paducah desires to enlarge its fire station facility at Fire Station No. 5 in the 1700 block on Broadway, and WHEREAS, Al Rea is the owner of a 37.5 foot tract of land adjoining said Fire Station along its east property line, and WHEREAS, the said Al Rea has agreed to convey the property to the City of Paducah for the sum of $8,000.00 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized to pay the sum of $8,000.00 to Al Rea and his wife, upon the delivery of a deed approved by the Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, conveying a good and valid fee simple title to the following described property: Beginning at a point in the south line of Broadway 105.5 feet west of the southwest corner of Broadway and Fountain Avenue; thence at right angles and south 142 feet to a 16 foot alley; thence at right angles and west 14.5 feet; thence at right angles and south 23.25 feet; thence at right angles and west 23 feet; thence at right angles and north 165.25 feet; thence at right angles and east 37.5 feet to the point of beginning. Said conveyance shall be free and clear of all liens and en- cumbrances and all city, school, state and county taxes through the year 1971. SECTION 2. .An emergency is declared.to exist and this ordinance shall therefore be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least .one week in the.completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect immediately thereafter.
