HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 78, No Resolution Number78j A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ONE HEAVY DUTY CAB AND CHASSIS FOR DUMPSTER HOIST UNIT, FOR USE BY THE REFUSE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise for bids for the purchase of one heavy duty cab and chassis for dumpster hoist unit for use by the Refuse Depart- ment of the City, having the following specifications: Specifications 1970 truck Gross vehicle weight 45,000 Heavy duty tilt cab and chassis Minimum 111 inch wheel base with minimum 84 inches from cab to center of axle . 9000 pound front axle 22,000 pound single speed rear axle 345 cubic inch engine, 196 horsepower Mechanical Tachometer Hand control throttle Double Channel Frame . Front Shoch Absorbers Heavy duty front springs Heavy duty rear springs,and auxiliary Five speed transmission 10.00 x 20 - 12.ply tires Fresh air heater and defroster Front Tow hooks Increased brakes vacuum .over hydraulic 42 Amp. alternator 1CC emergency flasher and turn signals Western type mirrors Spare tire and wheel Windshield wipers for both sides Color orange and black Each bidder shall state the amount of cash he will accept for the sale to the city for the foregoing cab and chassis, and the amount 79 of time required for delivery. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat to be published not less than seven nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Com- missioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids, and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
