ORDINANCE NO. 71-9-539
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING A PORTION OF SECTION 10-52(a) PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT - GENERALLY AND BY ADDING A NEW SUBSECTION (n) THERETO OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That so much of Section 10-52(a) "Public Works Department
generally" as reads
Laborers (3 positions) $2.40
be amended and reordained by changing said provision and adding immediately
prior thereto the following classification:
Night watchman $2.63
Laborers (2 positions) 2.40
SECTION 2. That Section 10-52 Public works department - generally
be amended and reordained by adding thereto a new subsection as follows:
( n) Night Watchman. The night watchman shall be required to
inspect facilities and safety devices throughout the City and to operate
a motor vehicle. The night watchman shall be paid at the rate of $2.63
per hour for the first six months of employment, and at the expiration of
six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.68, such increase
to be made upon recommendation of the city manager.
SECTION 3. This ordinance amends Section 8-B of an ordinance
adopted December 2, 1947, and which was last amended by Ordinance No.
71-5-459 adopted May 11, 1971.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
