HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 67, Ordinance Number 70-3-297ORDINANCE NO. 70-3-297 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9 OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES' CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, AND LAST AMENDED ON FEBRUARY 24, 1970 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 9 of the "Appointive Employees' Civil Service Ordinance", which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 2, 1947, and last amended on February 24, 1970, be, and it is hereby amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: ,� ",`i�"' •'!_, "SECTION 9. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions not assigned to any department of the City of Paducah, but directly under the supervision of the City Manager, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Base Monthly Salary City Clerk $585.00 Secretary to City Manager and Mayor 435.00 Social Worker 330.00 Secretary, Planning Office 330.00 MAINTENANCE Chief of Maintenance Division 590.00 INSPECTIONS Building & Electrical Inspector $550.00 Clerk -typist No. 1 330.00 Clerk -typist No. 2 285.00 Base Hourly Rate No. 1 Maintenance Man $2.63 No. 2 Maintenance Man (I position) 2.33 Maintenance Helper (2 positions) 2.23 Janitor 2.00 Assistant Janitor (2 positions) 1.70 we Base Monthly Salary INSPECTIONS Building & Electrical Inspector $550.00 Clerk -typist No. 1 330.00 Clerk -typist No. 2 285.00 68 The Building & Electrical Inspector shall perform the duties formerly performed by the Building Inspector and the Electrical Inspector, and said Building & Electrical Inspectortshall be under the direct supervision of the City Manager. The Secretary shall be paid at the rate of $330.00 per month for the first six months of employment, at the expiration of six months $340.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $350.00 per month, and at the expiration of two years $360.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The No. 1 Maintenance Man shall be paid at the rate of $2.63 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.68 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The No. 2 Maintenance Man shall be paid at the rate of $2.33 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be $2.38 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Maintenance Helpers shall be paid at the rate of $2.23 per hour for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased to $2.28 per hour, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. The Janitor shall be paid at the rate of $2.00 per hour for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $2.05 per hour; at the expiration of one year $2.10 per hour and at the expiration of two years $2.15 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Assistant Janitors shall be paid at the rate of $1.70 per hour for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $1.75 per hour; at the expiration of one uear $1.80 per hour and at the 0 II expiration of two years $1.85 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. Clerk -typist No. 1 shall be paid at the rate of $330.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $340.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $350.00 per month and at the expiration of two years $360.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. 69 The Clerk -typist No. 2 shall be paid at the rate of $285.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $295.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $305.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $315.00 per month, and at the expiration of three years $325.00 per month; such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 3.
