HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 608, No Resolution Number608 9 RESOLUTION APPROVING AND PROVIDING FOR THE EXECUTION OF A PROPOSED CONTRACT FOR CODE ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM UNDER SECTION 117 OF TITLE I OF THE HOUSING ACT OF 1949, AS AMENDED, NUMBERED CONTRACT NO. KY. E -2(G), BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WHEREAS, the United States of America (herein called the "Government") has tendered to the City of Paducah, Kentucky (herein called the "Public Body"; a proposed Contract for Code Enforcement Program under Section 117 of Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, under which the Government would make a grant of Federal funds to the Public Body to aid in financing the cost of a certain Code Enforcement Program designated Program No. Ky. E-2 in the area described in such proposed Contract; and WHEREAS, the Public Body has given due consideration to said proposed Contract; and WHEREAS, it is understood that the amount of Six Hundred Thousand Dollars ($600,000.00) is for the first year of project activities and the addi- tional approved funds will be forthcoming since Project Ky. E-2 is a three-yeax project: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The proposed Contract for Code Enforcement Program under Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, designated Contract No. Ky. E -2(G), consisting of Parts I and II, under and subject of the terms and con- ditions of which the Government would make a grant of Federal funds to the Public Body to aid in financing the cost of a certain Code Enforcement Program designated Program No. Ky. E-2, situated in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, is hereby in all respects approved. SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute said proposed Contract in two counterparts on behalf of the Public Body, and tt City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to impress and attest the officia: seal of the Public Body on each such counterpart, and to forward such counter- parts to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for execution on behalf of the Uoverrment, together with such other documents relative to the approval and execution thereof as well as to this Resolution as may be required by the Government. SECTION 3. The Executive Director is hereby authorized to file requisitions, together with necessary supporting documents, with the Government, from time to time, requesting payment to be made on account of 609 the grant provided for in the said Contract, and to do and perform all other such things and acts required to be done or performed in order to obtain such payments. SECTION 4. In the event a depository for direct deposit of loan and/or grant funds is required to be designated, the depository for such funds under said contract shall be The Peoples First National Bank & Trust Company of Paducah, Kentucky, and the account name shall be "City of Paducah Mechanicsburg Code Enforcement Project Account", and the authorized signatures shall be those of the Project Director and the City Manager or City Treasurer. SECTION 5. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
