HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 586, No Resolution Number586 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW 1971 THREE-QUARTER TON PICK-UP TRUCK FOR USE BY THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky of one (1) new 1971 three-quarter ton pick-up truck for use by the Engineering Department of the City, having the following specifications: Eight (8) foot long body, with fender wells inside wide body, wheel base minimum 127 inches, V8 engine 360 cu. in. or more, with air cleaner, oil filter, directional signals, lights to meet all ICC regulations, 2 speed electric windshield wipers, 800x16.5 8 -ply tire size, rear tires to be "mud grip" type, spare wheel with tire, defroster, truck heater fresh air type, 45 amp battery, 3 -speed manual transmission, power brakes, power steering, channeled rear pumper plate on top, 1175 lbs, front springs at pad and 2400 1b. rear springs at pad. Color of truck black. Each bidder shall state the amount he wull accept in cash for the purchase of the truck he offers for sale,and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1963 Ford Model P100 one-half ton truck, serial no. F10CG351736 and said vehicle may be inspected on request at City Hall. (Aluminum enclosed top not to be traded.) Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar truck of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and each bid must state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from 587 the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
