HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 572, Ordinance Number 71-5-462572 ;.,. - , �-: , L�yg ORDINANCE NO. 71-5-462 AN ORDINANCE Amending SECTION 25-1 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 25-1 "Number, rank and salaries of members of Department" of the Code of Ordinances City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 25-1. Number, rank and salaries of members of department. (a) The numder,and rank of members of the police department of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, provided said salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position Number of Positions Base Monthly Salar Chief of Police 1 $883.33 First Assistant Chief of Police 1 780.00 Second Assistant Chief of Police 1 725.00 Chief of Detectives 1 735.00 Captain 8 670.00 Sergeants 15 620.00 Policemen 37 530.00 (b) The first assistant Chief shall be paid at the rate of $780.00 per month until such time as he has completed seventeen (17) years of service with the city; at the expiration of seventeen (17) years and until he has served with the city for a total of twenty (20) years he shall be paid at the rate of $785.00 per month, and at the expiration of twenty (20) years of service he shall be paid at the rate of $790.00 per month. (c) The second assistant chief shall be paid at the rate of $725.00 per month until such time as he has completed seventeen (17) years of service with the city; at the expiration of seventeen (17) years of service he shall be paid at the rate of $730.00 per month, and at the expiration of twenty (20) years of service he shall be paid at the rate of $735.00 per month. 573 (d) The chief of detectives shall be paid at the rate of $735.00 per month until such time as he has completed seventeen (17) years of service with the city; at the expiration of seventeen (17) years of service he shall be paid at the rate of $740.00 per month, and at the expiration of twenty (20) years of service he shall be paid at the rate of $745.00 per month. (e) captains shall be paid at the rate of $670.00 per month until they have served with the city for fourteen (14) years; at the expiration of fourteen (14) years they shall be paid at the rate of $675.00 per month; at the expiration of seventeen (17) years they shall be paid at the rate of $680.00 per month, and for all months of service after twenty (20) years they shall be paid at the rate of $685.00 per month. (f) Sergeants shall be paid at the rate of $620.00 per month for all service through eleven (11) years with the city; at the expiration of eleven (11) years the rate of pay shall be $625.00 per month; at the expiration of fourteen years of service the rate of pay shall be $630.00 per month; at the expiration of seventeen (17) years of service, and for all service thereafter, the rate of pay shall be $635.00 per month. (g) Policemen shall be paid at the rate of $530.00 per month for the first six (6) months; at the expiration of six (6) months of service with the city the rate of pay shall be $540.00 per month; at the end of one year of service the rate of pay shall be $550.00 per month; at the end of the second year of service the rate of pay shall be $560.00 per month; for all service between the third and fifth years, the rate of pay shall be $570.00 per month; for service between the fifth and eighth year, the rate of pay shall be $575.00 per month; for all service between the eighth and eleventh year the rate of pay shall be $580.00 per month; for service between the eleventh and fourteenth year, the rate of pay shall be $585.00 per month, and for all service beyond fourteen (14) years the rate of pay shall be $590.00 per month. (h) A policeman assigned to a two -wheel motorcycle .for patrol shall receive the additional sum of one dollar and twenty-five cents ($1.25) per day on any day he patrols with or operates a motorcycle in excess of two (2) hours. (i) Any policeman who is assigned to motorcycle patrol duty on one-third (1/3) of his duty days shall, after his first nine (9) months of such duty, receive an additional clothing allowance of one hundred 574 dollars ($100.00), thereafter as he continues such duty he shall receive an annual one hundred dollar ($100.00) extra clothing allowance, which shall be paid on the anniversary date of the first extra allowance provided, however, that if said date is nearer than three (3) months to the date of the payment of the regular annual clothing allowance, the extxa clothing allowance shall be paid three (3) months before or after the regular date, whichever is nearer." SECTION 2. This ordinance amends Section l.of an ordinance adopted August 5, 1952, and last amended by Section 1 of Ordinance No. 70-10-384 which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on October 6, 1970. SPXTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after and retroactive to May 3, 1971.
