HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 521, No Resolution Number521 A RESOLUTION FAVORING THE IMMEDIATE CONSTRUCTION OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 24 IN AND AROUND THE CITY OF PADUCAH and WHEREAS a good highway system is vital to the life of a community, WHEREAS there is no interstate highway in and around Paducah, Kentucky, as of this time, and WHEREAS there is congestion on the existing highways in and around Paducah, making them extremely hazardous and making them in- adequate for today's needs. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advise the Kentucky Highway Department and the U. S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Public Roads, that the Legislative Body of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, desires that said Department and Bureau expedite their plans to complete the proposed routing of I-24 in and around the City of Paducah as has been proposed and has been outlined for the design public hearing in Paducah to be held on April 30, 1971. SECTION 2. A certified copy of this resolution shall be pre- sented onbehal£ of the City of Paducah at the design public hearing in Paducah on April 30, 1971 to constitute presentment to the Kentucky Highway Department and the U. S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Public Roads. SECTION 3.
