HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 439, No Resolution Number439 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT FOR USE IN THE PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested and authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of the following communication equipment for use in the Paducah Police Department: 1 - Complete custom designed control console and equipment 1 - Base station 1 - Base station scrambler 15 - Mobile units 15 - Mobile scramblers 4 - Walkie-talkies 4 - Battery chargers 2 - Base station receivers according to the specifications compiled by and for the Paducah Police Department for such equipment, and in so advertising he will use substantially the following form: "INVITATION FOR BIDS "The City of Paducah, Kentucky will receive bids for the sale to the City of police communication equipment until 10 o'clock a.m., CST on the 19th day of February, 1971, at City Hall Commission Chambers, Paducah, Kentucky, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. "The project consists of the following materials and items: 1 - Complete custom designed control console and equipment 1 - Base station 1 - Base station scrambler 15 - Mobile units 15 - Mobile scramblers 4 - Walkie-talkies 4 - Battery chargers 2 - Base station receivers 440 "Technical specifications may be obtained at the office of the City Manager or Chief of Police, at the City Hall in Paducah, Kentucky. "The City of Paducah reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. "Bids may be held by the City of Paducah for a period not to exceed sixty days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids, investigating the qualifications of the bidder and to insure that all specifications may be met. The City of Paducah, Kentucky By: Larry E. Thomas City Manager" Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for sale to the City of the foregoing property, including any and all applicable taxes, and each bidder shall state the approximate amount of time for delivery and installation. Each bidder shall state the guarantee available for each item bid upon. The successful bidder will be required to assemble and install all equipment. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
