ORDINANCE NO. 71-1-429
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF PADUCAH LAUNDRY AND CLEANERS, INC.
FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH UNIFORMS FOR THE REFUSE DEPARTMENT
PERSONNEL, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR
SUCH UNIFORMS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of Paducah Laundry
and cleaners, Inc. for furnishing the City of Paducah with uniforms for
the Refuse Department personnel, which bid has the specifications as
set out in the resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners on
November 24, 1970, authorizing such bids, and as contained in the bid of
Paducah Laundry and Cleaners, Inc. dated December 14, 1970, in words and
figures as follows:
"I. Five (5) uniforms consisting of pants and shirts - 65%
dacron and 35% cotton for employees wanting this type of
clothing - $2.50 per week per employee.
Five (5) coveralls consisting of 65% dacron and 35% cotton
for employees wanting this type of garment - $2.50 per
week per employee.
2. If all employees will wear coveralls of 65% dacron and
35% cotton quality we bid $2.00 per week per employee.
If all employees will wear pants and shirts of 65% dacron
and 35% cotton we bid $2.00 per week per employee.
3. If a 100% cotton garment is considered we bid $2.35 per
week per employee on the pant and shirt service and $1.45
per week for the coverall service.
The above bid is for a one (1) year period."
SECTION 2. The uniforms to be supplied according to the aforesaid
bid shall be in colors to be designated by the City Manager.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to execute a contract with Paducah Laundry and Cleaners, Inc. for the
purchase of the service set out in Section 1 above, and according to
the said resolution and said bid.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for at
least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be
put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect
ten days thereafter. %
