HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 434, Ordinance Number 71-1-4284341 ORDINANCE NO. 71-1-428 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY TREASURER TO PAY THE SUM OF $7,000.00 JOINTLY TO JAMES J. MCGRAW AND MARGARET CABLE FOR PLANNING AND CONSULTING SERVICES AND THE PREPARATION OF AN APPLICATION FOR A NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR THE ACTION YEAR 1971 WHEREAS during the last three and one-half years, the City of Paducah has saved in excess of $50,000.00 for planning and consulting fees because of voluntary services performed by James J. McGraw and Margaret Cable, and WHEREAS during said period of time the said individuals have Prepared or assisted in the preparation of the following items: Workable Program for Community Improvement, 1967; Workable Program for Community Improvement, 1968; Workable Program for Community Improvement, 1969-1971; Amendment No. 2, Downtown Civic Center Project, Ky. R-30; Amendment No. 3, Downtown Civic Center Project, Ky. R-30; Concentrated Code Enforcement Program Application, Oaklawn Neighborhood Improvement Program, Ky. E-1,- Urban -1;Urban Renewal Plan for North Tyler Park Area and Paducah Southside Rehabilitation Area, 1969 - 1974 Neighborhood Development Program Application, Action Year 1970, Ky. A-2; Urban Beautification Plan 1969 - 1974 Urban Beautification Activity Report, 1969, and Urban Beautification Activity Report, 1970, AND WHEREAS it is now necessary for the City of Paducah to prepare and submit an application for a Neighborhood Development Program for the Action Year 1971, and WHEREAS the said parties have the familiarity and expertise within this area to prepare the necessary application, but the work required has been and will be outside the scope of their responsibilities and duties within their employment with the Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency and with the City of Paducah, and will require many hours of work on their own time during evenings and week ends, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1_ That the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay the sum of $7,000.00 to James J. McGraw and Margaret Cable, jointly, for their completion and submission to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development a Neighborhood Development Program Application for the Action Year 1971, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, said payment to be made within sixty days 435 after approval of the application by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah and submission of the application to the Housing and Urban Development Regional Office. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten days thereafter.
