ORDINANCE NO. 71-1-421 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-51 "ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 10-51 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 10-51. Engineering department (a) There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the engineering department, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position Base Monthly Salary City Engineer, head of department $920.00 Assistant city engineer 775.00 Instrument man 595.00 Draftsman 575.00 Rodman 480.00 Clerk -stenographer 374.00 Chainman (2 positions) 414.00 Clerk -typist 329.00 (b) The Clerk -stenographer shall be paid at the rate of $374.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $384.00 per month; at the -expiration of one year $394.00 per, month; and at the expiration of two years $405.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager. (c) The chainman shall be paid at the rate of $414.00 per month for the first year of employment, at the expiration of one year the salary shall be increased to $425.00 per month, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the city manager. (d) The clerk -typist shall be paid at the rate of $329.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $339.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $349.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $359.00 per month, and at the expiration of three years $370.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager." 423 SECTION 2. Section 1 amends Sections 8 and 8-A of an ordinance enacted December 2, 1947 and last amended by Ordinance No. 70-5-320 on May 12, 1970. SECTION.3.
