OVERSTREET, FORMER CITY MANAGER AND OUTSTANDING CIVIC LEADER WHEREAS it is universally agreed that the measure of a man's worth is the quality of his life and works; and WHEREAS Robert H. Overstreet at various periods in his career served the City of Paducah as City Manager, Urban Renewal Director, and Smoke Abatement Administrator, and was affectionately known to a host of friends and admirers as Bob Overstreet, devoted family man, loyal church member, enthusiastic club worker, and tireless promoter of countless causes designed to enrich the social, cultural, and economic life of his fellowmen; and WHEREAS the hand of death has taken from us this outstanding civic leader at a .time when he was still actively engaged in promoting the welfare of the community; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:' SECTION 1. That in the death of Robert H. Overstreet a shocking loss has been sustained by the Paducah community and a genuine sorrow has invaded the hearts of our people and the members of this Board of Commissioners. Our sympathy is extended to members of the family, and our assurance is given that due to the example he set and the inspiration he provided Paducah will continue to be a better city because Bob Overstreet'lived here and worked here during all the years of his life. SECTION 2. That the adoption of this Resolution'be spread on the minutes of the meeting and copies hereof be forwarded to the next of kin. Mayor
