HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 400, Ordinance Number 70-12-416400/ , ORDINANCE 90. 12-70-416 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-7 "INCREASE ON EXAMINATION GRADE FOR VETERANS AND RED CROSS NURSES" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, WHICH SECTION WAS SECTION 5 OF AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A CIVIL SERVICE SYSTEN IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, DATED DECEMBER 2, 1947 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 10-7 of the Code of Ordinances City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "Sec. 10-7. Increase on examination grade for veterans and Red Cross nurses. Every soldier, sailor, marine, member of the sir forces, Army Nurse Corps and members of other branches of the military services and Red Cross nurses, who served on behalf of the United States of America during the period of hostilities between the United States and Japan and Germany in World War II, and who served during the periods recognized for the awarding of campaign medals to those who served in the Korean or Vietnamese actions, and who has been honorably discharged, and is a resident voter of the city, and who is an applicant for any position in the civic service shall be entitled to a five point on his or her examination mark." SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
