HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 322, Ordinance Number 70-9-380322 j ORDINANCE NO. 70-9-380 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 31-13 "INSPECTION AND APPROVAL; REQUIRED WARNING SIGNALS" IN ARTICLE II "AMBULANCES" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 31-13 "Inspection and Approval; Required Warning Signals" of the Code of Ordinances City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "Section 31-13 Inspection and approval; required warning signals; personnel qualifications, and equipment. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any ambulance or other vehicle used primarily for the transportation of sick or injured persons in the city, until such ambulance or vehicle has been inspected and approved by the Chief of Police, or someone under his direction, as to its condition with regard to the safety of its operation and as to its warning signals and equipment, and each such vehicle shall have a minimum of one flashing red light and one siren, and each such vehicle operated in the city shall be inspected at least once each six months. All vehicles used for the operation of such ambulance service in the City of Paducah shall be not more than five years old and shall be equipped with such equipment as may then be listed on the minimum equipment list of the Committee on Trauma bf the American College of Surgeons. All persons operating ambulance vehicles in the City of Paducah shall possess all required vehicle operator's licenses and shall possess currently valid American Red Cross Standard and Advanced Training Certification and shall be at least twenty years of age. Every ambulance in operation shall have at least two trained persons, one driver and one attendant, for each ambulance call, and all attendants shall possess the same minimum qualifications as required for ambulance drivers." SECTION 2. This ordinance amends Section 2 of an ordinance pertaining to ambulances adopted November 20, 1957. 323 SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
