HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 318, Ordinance Number 70-9-378318 ORDINANCE NO. 70-9-378 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A CHANGE ORDER TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN LITTLETON, INC. AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SITE IMPROVEMENTS IN THE OAKLAWN CODE ENFORCEMENT AREA OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, WHICH CONTRACT WAS AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS DATED JUNE 24, 1969 WHEREAS the site improvement construction work in the Oaklawn Code Enforcement Area of Paducah, Kentucky, has required the replacement of an existing sanitary sewer on Palm Street, which sanitary sewer had been privately installed, was unknown to the contractor or project engineer prior to construction and which was above the new grade for said street, and WHEREAS the additional work for replacement of the sanitary sewer will be a total cost of $6,500.00 of which the City of Paducah will be required to pay the sum of $1,625.00, and WHEREAS said amount exceeds the limits of authority for the Executive Director of the Oaklawn Neighborhood Improvement Project and the City Manager of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That a Change Order in the Contract for construction of site improvements in the Oaklawn Code Enforcement Area of Paducah, Kentucky, between Littleton, Inc. and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, in the amount of $6,500.00 of which the City of Paducah will be required to pay $1,625.00 be, and the same is hereby, authorized by this Board for the construction and replacement of an existing sanitary sewer on Palm Street in said area, which replacement has been required by reason of the construction of a new grade for said street. SECTION 2. The Executive Director of the Oaklawn Neighborhood Improvement Project is hereby authorized and directed to take all steps necessary to effect such change and to properly account for same in the sharing of costs between the City of Paducah and the United States of America Department of Housing and Urban Development. SECTION 3. An emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall therefore_ be introduced and remain on file for one (1) 319 week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect immediately thereafter.
