HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 280, Ordinance Number 70-8-369280/ ORDINANCE NO. 70-8-369 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF GORDON MEEKS TO PURCHASE THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH IN FOUR TRACTS OF LAND NEAR 7TH STREET AND NORTHVIEW (TERRELL) STREET FOR THE SUM OF $450.00; AND AUTHORIZING THE.MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A QUITCLAIM DEED BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:' SECTION 1. That the offer of Gordon Meeks in the amount of $450.00 to purchase the interest of the City of Paducah in four tracts of land near 7th and Northview (Terrell) Street be accepted, said tracts being described as follows: Tract No. 1 Fronting 40 feet on the east side of Northview (Terrell) Street 80 feet south of 7th Street, and running back 80 feet, and as shown on page 24 of Block Map Book No. 3 in the office of the City Engineer. Being the same land (Sam Brewer Sr. property) conveyed to the City of Paducah by Ben C. LeRoy, City Treasurer, by deed dated August 20, 1970, and of record in Deed Book page in the McCracken County Court Clerk's office. Tract No. 2 Being Lot 18 on South side of 7th Street 80 feet east of Northview (Terrell) Street, being 40 x 155 feet, and as shown on page 24 of Block Map Book No. 3 in the office of the City Engineer. Being the same land (William Brewer property) conveyed to the City of Paducah by Ben C. LeRoy, City Treasurer, by deed dated August 20, 1970, and of record in Deed Book page in the aforesaid Clerk's office. Tract No. 3. Fronting 40 feet on the south side of 7th Street 120 feet east of Northview (Terrell)Street, and running back 155 feet to an alley and as shown on page 24 of Block Map Book No. 3 in the office of the City Engineer. Being the same land (Jeff Carter Estate property) conveyed to the City of Paducah by Ben C. LeRoy, City Treasurer, by deed dated August 20, 1970, and of record in Deed Book _ page in the aforesaid Clerk's office. Tract No. 4. Fronting 35 feet on the east side of Northview (Terrell) Street 120 feet south of 7th Street, and running back 80 feet along an alley, and being as shown on page 24 of Block Map Book No. 3 in the office of the City Engineer. Being the same land (D. J. Foster property) conveyed to the City of Paducah by Ben C. LeRoy, City Treasurer, by deed dated August 20, 1970, and of record in Deed Book page in the aforesaid Clerk's office. 281 SECTION 2. Upon payment of the sum of $450.00 to the City Treasurer, the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to convey to Gordon Meeks all right, title and interest of the City in the properties described in Section 1 hereof, and said deed of conveyance shall be quitclaim only, shall contain no warranty as to title, shall be subject to any state of facts that might be shown by an accurate survey, and shall be subject to 1970 city taxes which are to be paid by said purchaser. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
