HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 206, Ordinance Number 70-6-345206J ORDINANCE NO. 70-6-345 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE AMOUNT TO BE CHARGED FOR CONNECTING TO CITY SANITARY SEWERS CONSTRUCTED BY THE CITY ALONG CLAY STREET FROM A POINT EAST OF 32ND STREET TO A POINT WEST OF 30TH STREET, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF CONNECTION PERMITS, PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE CONNECTION CHARGES, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS HEREOF WHEREAS, the City Engineer has advised the Board of Commissioners as to the amount to be properly charged for connections to the City's Sanitary sewer based upon the construction cost and number of present and future connections along the line of said sanitary sewer in the area designated by the City Engineer, and WHEREAS, the connection fee as recommended by the City Engineer is in the amount of $750.00. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. There is hereby established the charge of $750.00 for the connection to city sanitary sewers constructed in the city's sanitary sewer extension project for Clay Street from a point east of 32nd Street to a point west of 30th Street. SECTION 2. No connection to said sanitary sewer system shall be made by any property owner or other person, firm or corporation except under permit for such connection issued by the Director of Public Works of said city. SECTION 3. The Director of Public Works shall not issue the connection permit set out in Section 2 hereof until he has received evidence that the proper commection fee has been paid to the City Treasurer. SECTION 4. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to make a connection to any sanitary sewer constructed in the above described territory without having paid the proper fee as set out herein and obtained the proper permit as herein set out, and upon conviction shall be fined not less than $50.00 nor more than $100.00 for each offense, and a separate offense shall be deemed committed upon each day during which such a violation occurs or continues. 207 SECTION 5. All occupied dwellings and premises shall be connected to the sanitary sewer line within twelve months from the effective date of this ordinance, and no new construction intended for human occupancy shall be occupied until the sanitary facilities have been connected to said sewer. SECTION 6. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 7.
