ORDINANCE NO. 70-1-278
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT
WITH GULF OIL COMPANY, U. S. FOR THE PURCHASE OF ALL REGULAR AND ETHYL
GASOLINE, DIESEL FUEL AND KEROSENE FOR USE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY, FOR THE PERIOD OF TIME FROM JANUARY 1, 1970 TO DECEMBER 31,
1970, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASES
SHALL BE MADE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to enter into a contract, on behalf of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
with Gulf Oil Company, U.S. for the purchase of the following supplies
for use by the City from January 1, 1970 to December 31, 1970.
Regular gasoline, octane rating 94.5 minimum, tank wagon price
per gallon, $0.2610, discount $0.0639 per gallon.
Ethyl gasoline, octane rating 100 minimum, tank wagon price per
gallon $0.296, discount $0.0789 per gallon.
Diesel Fuel No. 2, tank wagon price per gallon $0.168 Ex all tax,
discount $0.0441 per gallon.
Kerosene, $0.178 per gallon, discount $0.0486 per gallon.
All products furnished to the city will be paid for on or about
the 15th day of the month following purchase with a term of net thirty
days. The City shall not be required to make a deposit on any drums,
but all drums will be returned by the City when empty.
The Company will furnish and install four (4) electrically operated
and metered gasolien pumps, necessary tanks and required concrete islands
and also to furnish one (1) electrically operated and metered diesel pump
and underground tank.
All prices quoted herein shall be guaranteed against advance in
the market price, and the Company is to guarantee a corresponding
reduction in price in the event of a decrease in price. However, in
the event a temporary or subnormal consumer price on gasoline is put
into effect and such price is lower than the established price with
discount, the lower price will apply.

In the event of fire or other emergency, the Company shall give
twenty-four (24) hour emergency tank truck service to any point in the
city, seven days per week.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced at a meeting of the
Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at least one (1) week
for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put
upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect
ten (10) days tjereafter.
