ORDINANCE NO. 70-6-339
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED
"AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANKS AND MONTHLY SALARIES OF
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH",
WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 11, 1951,
AND LAST AMENDED ON APRIL 7, 1970
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title
quoted above, which was adopted on December 11, 1951, and last amended on
April 7, 1970, be, and the same is hereby, amended and reordained so
that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 1. The number and rank of the members of the Fire Depart-
ment of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, provided said
salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinance hereafter
adopted shall be as follows:

Assistant Chiefs shall be paid at the rate of $685.00 per month
until such time as they have completed 17 years of service with the
City; at the expiration of 17 years of service they shall be paid at
the rate of $690.00 per month, and at the expiration of 20 years of
service they shall be paid at the rate of $695.00 per month.
Captain shall be paid at the rate of $630.00 per month until he
has served with the City for 14 years; at the expiration of 14 years
he shall be paid at the rate of $635.00 per month; at the expiration of
17 years he shall be paid at the rate of $640.00 per month, and for all
months of service after 20 years he shall be paid at the rate of $645.00
per month.
The Inspector shall be paid at the rate of $580.00 per month for all
service through 11 years with the City; at the expiration of 11 years
the rate of pay shall be $585.00 per month; at the expiration of 14 years

of service the rate of pay shall be $590.00 per month; at the expiration
of 17 years of service, and for all service thereafter, the rate of pay
shall be $595.00 per month.
Engineers shall be paid at the same rate per month as provided
for the Inspector.
Firemen shall be paid at the rate of $490.00 per month for the
first six months; at the expiration of six months of service with the
City the rate of pay shall be $500.00 per month; at the end of one
year of service the rate of pay shall be $510.00 per month; at the end of
the second year of service the rate of pay shall be $520.00 per month;
for all service between the third and fifth years, the rate of pay shall'
be $530.00 per month; for service between the 5th and 8th year,the rate
of pay shall be $535.00 per month; for all service between the 8th and
11th year the rate of pay shall be $540.00 per month; for service between
the 11th and 14th year, the rate of pay shall be $545.00 per month, and
for all service beyond 14 years the rate of pay shall be $550.00 per month."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
retroactive to April 1, 1970.
