AN APPLICATION FOR A FEDERAL GRANT WITH THE BUREAU OF OUTDOOR RECREATION
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW SWIMMING FACILITIES IN NOBLE PARK, AND
PLEDGING THE FULL COOPERATION OF THE CITY FOR THE CITY'S SHARE OF
REQUIRED FUNDS
WHEREAS, the present swimming pool in Noble Park has been
condemned for further use without a commitment from the City to
rebuild and reconstruct the facilities, and
WHEREAS, it is essential to the City of Paducah to have such
swimming facilities available for the citizens,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF

THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
and directed to prepare an application for a grant from the Bureau of
Outdoor Recreation for construction of a new swimming pool and related
facilities in Noble Park.
SECTION 2. That the City hereby pledges its cooperation with the
Commonwealth of Kentucky, Kentucky Program Development Office, and the
Bureau of Outdoor Recreation in all requirements related to such grant.
SECTION 3. That this Commission pledge sufficient funds from

the City to match any grant received from the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation
and specifically that moneys available or to be made available from the

Electric Plant Board in settlement of all claims pursuant to 1968
17-5
Senate Bill 288; from the sale of the Old International Shoe Factory
facilities, when such are sold; from all payments received for exemptions
granted from refuse collections, and from all other pledges and gifts
to the City specifically designated for swimming pool facilities.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
