HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 15, No Resolution Number15% A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR ONE HEAVY DUTY CAB AND CHASSIS WITH DEMPSTER DUMPSTER HOIST UNIT FOR USE BY THE REFUSE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise for bids for the purchase of one heavy duty cab and chassis with dempster dumpster hoist unit for use by the Refuse Department of the City having the following specifications: Specifications for cab and chassis 1970 Truck GVW 45,000 H D Cab & Chassis Tilt Type Cab 135" WB 108CA Tandom Live Axle 361 Cu. Engine 210 HP 12,000 lb. front axle 34,000 lb. rear axle 5000# front springs at Pad. 34.89 S.M. 36,000 PSL Triple Channeled Full Air Brakes..Std. (Cam Type) Front Shock Absorbers 5 Speed Transmission 10.00 x 20 12 Ply Tires and tubes. Spare Rim Fresh Air Heater and Defroster Western Type Mirror both sides Turn signals Front & Rear 1 C C Emergency Flasher 30 Gal. Fuel tank 13" clutch Oil Bath Air Cleaner Oil Filter 1 qt. Tachometer Hand Control Throttle Front end tow hook Color: Black & Orange 16 Specifications for Dempster Dumpster Hoist Unit 15,000 pounds net payload that handles all type of containers including drop bottom tilt and skip of 1; to 12 cubic yards capacity inclusive, carried up and on the dempster-dumpster. Hydraulic Equipment 2 - S" diameter vertical cylinders, 24�" stroke 1 - 6" diameter double action horizontal cylinder, 49" stroke Rear Hydraulic stabilizing jacks. Each bidder shall state the amount of cash he will accept for sale to the City of the foregoing cab, chassis and hoist unit, and each bidder shall state the amount of trade-in allowable for one (1) 1957 C O, series 192, International cab & chassis with dumpster hoist, Model type L F W 253, capacity 7500, Serial No. 3236. The unit to be traded in may be inspected at the Refuse Department in the City of Paducah. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat to be published not less than seven days nor mord than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids, and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
