SHAW, EQUIPMENT OPERATOR IN THE REFUSE DEPARTMENT, AND DESIGNATING HIM AS PUBLIC SERVICES EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY WHEREAS, James A. Shaw, an equipment operator in the Refuse Department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, has faithfully and diligently performed his duties at the City's landfill during the year 1972, and WHEREAS, James A. Shaw has further distinguished himself in services to the City involving an extensive fire at the old landfill site, the construction of a road into the City's new landfill site, and in the construction of a bridge for the new landfill site, and WHEREAS, James A. Shaw has distinguished himself and displayed those traits so desirable in employees including faithfulness, punctuality, cooperation, intelligence, friendliness and cooperation with his employer, his supervisor, and his fellow employees, and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, desires to recognize the qualities displayed by James A. Shaw and to honor him and express to his their appreciation, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That James A. Shaw be, and he is hereby, designated as Public Services Employee of the year 1972 for the City of Paducah, Kentucky. SECTION 2. That the City Manager is authorized to purchase and present to James A. Shaw a United States Savings Bond for the amount of $25.00, and to grant to the said employee one extra day of vacation for the year 1973 to be taken at the mutual convenience of the employer and the employee. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
