HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 1245, No Resolution Number1245- A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE 1973 MODEL MINI BUS OR MAXI VAN TO BE USED FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF SENIOR CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) new 1973 Mini Bus or Maxi Van for use in transportation of senior citizens of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, said mini bus or maxi van to have the specifications, and all bidders to meet the terms and conditions as hereinafter set forth. SECTION 2. Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the motor vehicle specified above and agree to equip same with the following items of equipment: V-8 Engine - 350 Cu. In. or larger Extra Heavy Duty automatic transmission - 3 speed Wheel Base 120" or over Brakes - Power front disc with dual masters and warning light Laminated fixed glass all around except for Driver and passenger door Tires - 10 ply - Wheels should be six hole disc or more Alternator - 55 amp or larger - anti -spin deferential 70 amp -hr battery Heavy duty shocks Chrome rear and front bumper Cigarette lighter Courtesy light switch for all doors Air conditioner and insulation package All heavy-duty vinyl interior High output heater and defroster with auxiliary hot water heat for passenger department Radio Full headliner and also non -slip carpet throughout Western type rear view mirrors Bright lefthand & righthand 5X8 Standard equipment package Color preference - Turquoise Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar motor vehicle of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and the successful bidder must be capable of delivering said motor vehicle bid upon within sixty days after the date of any contract. SECTION 3. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting such 1246 notice of the request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat to be published not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids, and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 4.
