HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 1231, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW 1973 FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILE FOR USE IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for one (1) new 1973 four door sedan automobile for use by the Fire Chief in the Fire Department of the City, said vehicle to have the following specifications: V8 engine minimum 350 cubic inches Minimum wheel base 121 inches Front power disc brakes Power steering Factory installed air conditioning Heater and defroster Heavy duty generator or alternator 70 amp battery Heavy duty radiator Automatic transmission Lights to meet all ICC regulations Standard equipment to be described :dully Color - fire chief rea Steel belted radial ply tires A spot light will be furnished by the City to be installed to City specifications by the successful bidder Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the automobile he offers for sale, and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1968 Buick Lesabre now in use in the fire department, and each bidder shall state the approximate length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. The bid may be accepted by the City with or without trade-in. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted up at the City Hall door and by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. No bid shall be opened within ten days from the date 1232 on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest responsible bidder. The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any and all bids. SECTION 3.
