HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 17, Page 1187, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACTING CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF EIGHT (8) 1973 FOUR DOOR AUTOMOBILES FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, TWO (2) NEW 1973 FOUR DOOR AUTO- MOBILES TO BE USED IN THE DETECTIVE DIVISION AND ONE (1) 1973 VAN TRUCK TO BE USED IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Acting City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paducah eight (8) new 1973 four door sedan automobiles for use in the Police Department, two (2) 1973 four door sedan automobiles for use in the Detective Division, and one (1) 1973 Van truck for use in the Police Department, said automobiles to have the specifications, and all bidders to meet the terms and conditions as set forth in the 1973 police vehicle specifications received and filed by this Board on this date and incorporated herein by reference. SECTION 2. Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar car of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and the successful bidder must be capable of delivering all automobiles bid upon within sixty days after the date of any contract. 1188 SECTION 3. The Acting City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting such notice of the request for bids in the Paducah Sun -Democrat to be published not less than seven days nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the Acting City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids, and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
